Charitha Kudige’s journey began with a family background in business, but a transformative experience during college shifted her focus towards social work. After visiting an orphanage, she became passionate about helping underprivileged children, particularly those with special needs. Although she initially followed her family’s entrepreneurial path, she remained committed to her passion for social work, which led to her founding Sinchana Foundation in 2014.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce from R.V. College and certifications in Special Education, particularly in Autism and Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). She gained practical experience volunteering and later working as a Special Educator at Tamahar Trust, which inspired her to create Sinchana Foundation.
Charitha's foundation started small but grew to serve 40 children with a focus on individualized therapies and early interventions. Despite challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation recovered, now serving 40 children again with a team of 12 educators. Charitha’s vision for Sinchana is to provide comprehensive support to help children with disabilities lead independent and fulfilling lives.
She has also been recognized for her contributions with several awards, including the Notable Networker Award from BNI and a partnership with Own2Feet to expand the foundation's impact. Her dedication has led to notable successes, such as helping a child with autism transition to mainstream schooling, underscoring the foundation’s effectiveness. Charitha’s personal mission is to continue growing Sinchana Foundation into a comprehensive solution for individuals with special needs.
